Quantum Computing
Quantum Computing – Quiz
8 questions
Pass mark: 70%
1
What is quantum computing?
Quantum computing relies on traditional computer architecture but uses more powerful processors.
Quantum computing harnesses the principles of quantum mechanics to process information in ways that classical computers cannot, using qubits that can exist in multiple states simultaneously.
Quantum computing uses classical bits to perform calculations faster than traditional computers.
Quantum computing is based on binary code and processes information linearly.
2
What is a key advantage of quantum computing over classical computing?
Quantum computers can solve complex problems significantly faster than classical computers.
Quantum computers are smaller and consume less power than classical computers.
Quantum computers can only solve simple problems faster than classical computers.
Quantum computers use more memory to perform calculations, making them faster.
3
What are classical bits and how do they differ from quantum bits (qubits)?
Classical bits represent information as 0 or 1, whereas qubits can be 0, 1, or both simultaneously (superposition).
Classical bits can represent multiple states at once, unlike qubits which are binary.
Classical bits can exist in a superposition of states, unlike qubits which are binary.
Classical bits and qubits both represent information in the same way.
4
What is quantum entanglement?
Quantum entanglement is a phenomenon where qubits are correlated with each other, meaning the state of one qubit depends on the state of another, no matter the distance.
Quantum entanglement is the process of splitting a qubit into two separate qubits.
Quantum entanglement is a method of increasing the energy levels of qubits.
Quantum entanglement is the same as classical correlation between two particles.
5
How can quantum computing impact cryptography?
Quantum computing has no impact on cryptography because it uses the same principles as classical computing.
Quantum computers can break existing cryptographic codes but also enable quantum-safe encryption methods.
Quantum computers can only enhance current cryptographic methods without breaking them.
Quantum computing cannot be used for encryption and decryption processes.
6
Name one field where quantum computing can significantly enhance machine learning.
Agriculture
Artificial Intelligence
Construction
Literature
7
What is decoherence in quantum computing?
Decoherence is the process of creating entanglement between qubits.
Decoherence is when qubits lose their quantum state due to environmental interference.
Decoherence is a method to enhance the stability of qubits.
Decoherence is a technique used to increase the speed of quantum computers.
8
Why is scalability a challenge for quantum computing?
Building systems with a large number of qubits is difficult and complex.
Quantum computers require less maintenance than classical computers.
Scaling quantum computers is easy due to their simple architecture.
Quantum computers can scale easily but have other limitations.
